My Sister -in-law follows me around to beauty salons?

I have a sister-in-law who follows me around to beauty salons and spas. She then proceeds to gossip about me to wherever I go. Then the people start acting strange with me. One woman actually told me she was saying nasty things about me. My SIL now travels 45 minutes to get her haircut and the price is above her means also. This sounds like a joke and maybe women can answer this question. I'm sick of changing salons...why does she do this?... and oh my mother always innocently gives her the information. I'm not sure what category to put this in.My Sister -in-law follows me around to beauty salons?
When going to the Saloon...

Don't react to the gossiping. Just tell them, some people would do anything for attention. I'm sure they are use to gossip and unruly women there.

Ask your Mom why is she allowing this and giving personal information to your SIL.

Ask your SIL what does she benefit from all these rumors?

Don't change Saloons. Blessings~My Sister -in-law follows me around to beauty salons?
this isn't too hard to figure out,,,but here goes: don't tell anyone you have an appointment.

wow that was tough.

A PEDICURE! GIRL.......I LOVE IT!What do you like the most of going to the beauty salon?
Well, a massage or facial is great. But at a salon with no spa services- I like a good hairwash- scalp massage and all. And I love leaving with bouncy, beautiful hair and a new look!
I don't like the experience all that much but for some reason I really enjoy looking through their hairstyle books and magazines.
manis and pedis definately!!! 鈾? cute toes and nails are ADORABLE!
Getting my hair done is always the best part because you feel better and its just so relaxing.
Facials
I love when I leave. :)
Getting my hair done. I love the shampoo process after she takes out the color. The scalp massage always makes me feel better and I end up with great looking hair the rest of the day!
I love to get my nails done and I also like to get my hair done. I am such a girlie-girl and I changed my hair olor like 5 times. I got brown to blond to red to strawberry blonde back to my original hair color.

  • How can i check if a beauty salon holds a valid licence?

they should have it displayedHow can i check if a beauty salon holds a valid licence?
as long as you have the legal name of the business can check the state licensing and it lok it up .. and you can do the same for a person.

In ny.. you need a license to operate as well a license to do the service.. if own a salon and work there as wellHow can i check if a beauty salon holds a valid licence?
you can go in and ask to see it.
    Depends on location/jurisdiction

In the UK salons need a 'special treatments licence' from the local EH as advised. There is no general 'merchant licence'
who cares long as you get your treatment no one likes a grass lol
They most likely only need a merchant license. Many salons rent out chairs to stylists. The stylist should be able to tell you where they went to school and have a certificate for employment on hand.
Contact your local environmental health department - they should be able to tell you
they have it posted when you walk in, and if they don't then you ask them. I doubt that they would mind.
They are supposed to have it posted. Each stylist is also supposed to have their personal license posted.

Which is better-- I color my own hair or go to the beauty salon?

I just had my hair colored (by a beautician) two months ago but it was not the correct shade/color. Thanks.Which is better-- I color my own hair or go to the beauty salon?
I would definitely go to a salon, because first of all, usually they can do a better job, and usually the dyes cause way less damage to your hair than shelf brand ones.Which is better-- I color my own hair or go to the beauty salon?
Dying it yourself is probably cheaper than going to a salon, but if you've never dyed hair, it might be risky, because it might not turn out the way you want it to.

But i dye my own hair, and I'm fine with it
I would go to a salon. If you're not happy with the color you can always switch to a different hairdresser or go to another salon.
Go back to the salon. It doesn't have to be the same salon or the same beautician but coloring your hair yourself rarely looks good.
talk to your hair dresser and maybe theyll fix it

but if you do it you could really mess it up big time
definately salon they know what they are doing not that you dont the dye is less damaging and your colour will last longer xx good luck
    beauty salon they are proffesionals

    well most of them

i like the hispanic ladies better
if you know how to color your own hair i suggest you do it. It saves money, but if not you should really go to a hair salon

What are the best hair/beauty salons near yarmouth, maine (cumberland county)?

i need to find a new hair salon around gray, yarmouth, freeport, falmouth, south portland, etc. maine becuase i just moved to the freeport area. i want a place that is young, upbeat, and has lots of experience and knowledge. i need great cuts/styles, someone who is great at coloring/foils and someone who can do a great eyebrow wax. if they offer manicures and tanning there its a plus! if you have any recommendations of a great, reliable place, let me know... also, if you know a particular stylist.. that's appreciated too! prefer competitive rate salons, not complete rip offs, but a quality service! not really interested in anything downtown portland. What are the best hair/beauty salons near yarmouth, maine (cumberland county)?
Hey I live in falmouth and there's a place called Cara and Company on Latin Road right near falmouth Hannaford. Everyone there is good, but Dianna does really nice coloring, knows what looks good on your skin tone, is really good at waxing eyebrows, knows what looks good for your hair. she's young and is really good at knowing what you're talking about when you tell her what you want done . i believe she does nails also. G is good too!. Its nice inside, it's like a little house. it's high quality, hey offer you drinks and stuff.

In the Hannaford parking lot there is Hair Artistry, which offers tanning. I'm not sure if Cara and Company does, but I'm still partial to Cara and Co.

  • Are there African-American style beauty salons in Japan?

I am moving to Japan in 2 months and I have twist. I dont want to get dreads but if there are none I may have to get dreads. I need to know if there are salons in Nagoya, Japan that do braids or twist? Are there African-American style beauty salons in Japan?
Are there black ppl in Japan? No.Are there African-American style beauty salons in Japan?
Sorry to disappoint you but no =[

But you can get a sewn in weave if that's your thing. I just don't know if there are any in Nagoya
i think they have a military base thats where most black people get there hair done. use the web and type in if they have any black people that do hair.
well, just some advice. most japanese never see black ppl be4 so dont be surprised if there r some prejudice toward u
japan aww man you couldnt have picked a worse country to be black in. well its okay if your not going outside of your room
I can'te tell you about hair salons but you can learn how to do braids and twists yourself. Even if you get dreads you are going to have to learn how to take care of them and retwist the base.

    Here is a good video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_kvbSDGw鈥?/a>

Once you get the hang of if, it's really not that hard. Takes a few hours but then you can keep them in for a couple weeks. Very low maintenance with regular remoisturizing. I am the most style challenged person ever but I recently learned how to cornrow my own hair. You don't have to get dreads if you don't want to. BUT if you feel like even lower maintenance hair and can't find any Black hair salon in Nagoya, the following a how to take care of dreads by yourself.

This is a post straight from someone who had dreads at http://nappturality.com. Highly recommend that site for more tips about how to take care of natural Black hair. There may even be someone there who lives in Nagoya who can tell you about a natural hair salon there.

{{{{1. you can start your locs and maintain them by yourself. you can start them with 2-strand twists, palm-rolled coils, braids, or freeform from an afro. however you choose to start them, make sure the base of the loc is about the thickness of a pencil. if they are too thin, you'll experience breakage down the road. if they are too thick, it will take longer for them to matt and loc and the individual locs will be heavier as they mature, which can cause stress on your scalp years down the road.

    2. you do not have to forgo cleansing your scalp to form locs. your scalp should be shampooed 1-2 times a week just to keep sebum and perspiration washed away. don't worry about coils or twists unraveling. redo the ones that become undone or just leave them alone and let them loc that way.

    3. choose a residue-free shampoo. you won't want to use conditioning shampoos that leave your hair coated, nor will you want to use leave-in conditioners, as they attract lint and dirt, which will embed in the locs and make them dirty and difficult to get totally clean. your focus should be on cleansing your scalp. a light, natural oil smoothed throughout your locs should be an adequate conditioner. avoid wax, shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, pretty much anything that is solid at room temperature. it will create a nasty buildup within your locs that will never come out, no matter how much clarifying you do. trust me, i've seen it, and what you'll end up with are clean-looking locs on the outside, but nasty ooze from product buildup on the inside of each loc, which will make them feel heavy in time. clean locs should feel light and spongy, regardless of texture.

    4. some people have good results with liquid castile soap as a shampoo. just be mindful to dilute really well because these soaps can leave residue if you aren't careful.

    5. personally, i would use a nonsoap cleansing method like a baking soda paste with a couple of drops of oil added and rubbed into the scalp, then rinsed away. or green clay, which is a good skin cleanser and will wash away easily under a steady stream of water.

    6. buy a nice scarf (satin, cotton, silk, whatever) to keep your hair wrapped at night or when you are lounging around or in windy weather when dust is blowing around to prevent lint and debris from becoming trapped in your locs, as you won't be able to brush or comb or even pick out debris as easily as you would with loose hair.

    7. be patient with the formation of your locs. if you have multiple textures on your head, as many people do, you may notice that parts of your head will loc faster than others. everyone goes through an awkward stage of locing in the beginning. you can use scarves, head wraps, etc., to get through those periods.

    8. your locs can be manicured, meaning, you will want to keep all fuzziness at bay by twisting your newgrowth regularly, showing evenly parted sections on your scalp. or you may want semi freeform, where you simply gently pull apart your locs after a fresh shampoo to discourage the fuzzies from matting and connecting locs. or you may want to have organic locs, in which you will let your hair do what it will do, creating spaghetti thin locs in some places, and fat ones in other areas. most people don't wear organic locs, especially if they plan to work in corporate environments. if you plan to have manicured locs, just make sure you don't overtwist them, as the constant twisting of the new growth can weaken the base of your locs and create breakage down the road. there are some people who use crochet-like hooks to keep the base of their locs from fuzzing too much. it's called latching. you can do a search for that. personally, that seems too time-consuming and unnatural. but everything isn't for everyone.

i don't know of any cons of having loced hair. as long as they are clean and clear of lint and dirt, as long as your scalp is regularly cleansed from the beginning and

I was ask to invest 25,000 with a lady who is opening a beauty salon.?

I am very interested in doing it, but I don't know if I should lend her the money and arrange a payment plan with interest or become her partner.I was ask to invest 25,000 with a lady who is opening a beauty salon.?
This is a very difficult answer to give a proper answer to. You have 3 options:

    1. give a loan

    2. become a partner

    3. do nothing.

From the tone of your question, it sounds like you are leaning towards either option 1 or 2. However, it would be a mistake to disreguard 3.

Does this person have any experience in running a beauty salon? Has a location been selected? Has a business plan been presented to you? Is there in equity to secure the loan?

Lets discuss 1 and 2. Loans at this time are extemely difficult to come by, especially loans for small businesses. A company that specializes in such things would probably require about a 10% to 12% annual interest rate with an equity kicker of about 10% or more.

Partnerships can somewhat of a problem even under the best of circumstances. The question always lurks as to whether the controlling partner is cheating the other partners. It happens a great deal.I was ask to invest 25,000 with a lady who is opening a beauty salon.?
invest in a good mutual fund unless you are a beautician and want to work there and keep an eye on your investment
There are many concerns. The most important question is will this lady be straight. You can have a lawyer draft up promissory notes and security agreements for a loan or a limited partnership agreement for sharing in the profits, but if she turns out to be a snake, then you will mostly likely end up losing money.

Has she had success running a beauty salon in the past? Does she make money for her partners? Does she have a good reputation? Is she putting any of her own money at risk? Have you seen her business plan and are her numbers realistic? Does she have a marketing plan? Do you know anything about the beauty salon business? Why can't she qualify for a small business loan from the bank? Are there other partners and if so, who are they?

These are just a small portion of the relevant questions that should be asked. If you are satisfied with all of the answers, then the decision between a loan or an investment depends on the projected net income.

If it looks like the business will just get by in re-paying the loan and paying the interest, then go for the loan. But if it looks like net income will be substantial, then the risk of an investment may be justified.

The business needs a a good location with good traffic. The salon should have visible frontage and signage. Ample parking is important, or mass transit should be close. Does the salon have that ';it'; factor that will draw women to the salon? And make sure the stylists are skilled and experienced.
unless you are in the business yourself, or are very well to do, (or this is a family deal AND your family won't let her not pay you back), I suggest not doing this.

    most new small businesses fail.

that's because most new small businesses are started by people without enough experience, who have a team assembled that isn't up to all of the tasks, and who then lose money until they run out of money.

if you decide to forge ahead anyway

what you want to be is a limited partner. do NOT become a general partner under any circumstances -- when a business fails, ALL of the general partners are liable for ALL of the debts up to the limit of everything they ALL own.

as a limited partner, what you want to get is regular payments. The other thing you want is to profit from her business should it be very successful. this looks like some minimum pre-arranged buy out price -- perhaps some multiple of the business' net income before your payments and before she takes more than any other operator gets. [the net operating profit]

you also need clauses and agreements that she will NOT pay her personal bills out of the business, nor add relatives, friends, lovers, spouses to the payroll, will NOT borrow from the business, nor have it buy her a car, etc.

in short, you need an attorney to draw up the LP agreement and preferably one who has experience with trying to prevent the cash and business from disappearing.
If your asking total strangers about how to invest your money... then No!
You provided the answer for us when you wrote ';I don't know if I should';...then don't.

We are talking 25 thousand! You better be a lot more sure than ';maybe';.
I know a good horse in a race.

How can I get from medium brown to a light brown or blonde in one visit to the beauty salon?

Just go and ask them to do it... Unless you dye your hair very frequently and it is damaged it shouldn't be a problem to do that in one visit =)How can I get from medium brown to a light brown or blonde in one visit to the beauty salon?
They will lift the color, it's not the same as a home job. It can be done don't worry. How can I get from medium brown to a light brown or blonde in one visit to the beauty salon?
they will have to lift colour in other words bleach your hair to the desired level, it will turn a bright brassy yellow colour so they must then tone your hair to the desired shade you would like. It should only take about 1hour and a half.

Where online can i get the forms to open a beauty salon in Puerto Rico?

If you want to open a business in Puerto Rico you need to do the following:

    - Apply for Merchants' Registration Certificate = everybody that do business in PR will need this certificate to operate or there would be a fine of $10K

    - Depending on the City, lets say San Juan, you need to go the municipality and ask for the permits they require to open the business in their city. You will have to go to government agencies like ARPE, Fire Department, CRIM and others for permits. After you do all this, the municipality will give you a business license call ';Patente';. Is a blue certificate that it most be visible to the customer.

    - We have a 7% Sales Tax that you need to collect and pay 6% to the State (Hacienda) and 1% to the Municipality. Depending on the municipality sometimes you have to pay the 7% to the State.

I recommend to find a trustin accountant that will help you with deadlines and document to submit to the government. Here is a link to the State website.

Can Christians go to beauty salons?

This might sound like a silly question but can Christians go to beauty salons and get facials etc because getting a facial can be really relaxing and bring deep peace and make your mind go completely empty but i've read on some Christian websites that Christians shouldn't do things that make their mind go completely empty-that its dangerous or something-and also it said if you do things to get peace and relaxation apart from praying that its seperating yourself/taking yourself away from God,that your no longer relying on God and that you should get your peacefulness etc from praying to God.

    I appreciate your opinion

mary kCan Christians go to beauty salons?
Yes and I agree with Scouse. I've never been to a beauty salon but I don't think there's anything wrong with it. We all need that peaceful relaxation it brings. : )Can Christians go to beauty salons?
I'm a ex- licensed cosmetologist and a Christian.

There is nothing wrong with going to a beauty salon for services they offer.

Facials are relaxing and promote healthy skin.

They remove dirt, oil, and impurity's from the face.

Pedicures and manicures are relaxing and promote healthy feet, and hands. Not to mention they are more attractive looking after the service.

What Christians should avoid is hypnotism and occult meditations and practices.

    Examples: (seances,physics,fortune tellers,Ouija boards,palm readers,Tarot card readers,hypnotism,and meditations.)

This is a portal allowing evil spirits to enter in.
Why not? Taking a reasonable pride in your appearance or having something to relax you properly ( I'm not talking about sex outside marriage here ) and make you feel better is not against the Christian faith. Over indulgence in such matters is. I do not believe that Christ was the stiff necked misery guts some would have you believe.
    Haha of course they can.

There are so many things in the world that take our minds off God.

We are people and will always use television and deep facials to zone out and relax.

Even though we would live a life of so much more spiritual fullfillment if instead we prayed or read the bible, we don't because we have these annoying habbits of when we are bored, just putting the tv on.

    Do you get my drift?

If anything facials are just another gift from God, ment to help us take our minds off worldly stress.
My opinion is that if you talk like that you'll be doing a lot of passing out. You need to take a breath every now and then.
they can go into one anyone ';can'; they shouldnt according to christian doctrine its another example of vanity right?
A woman is woman no matter what religion or belief they follow.
Yes, many Christian girls need it more than we do.
I'll take it a step further hypnotism now that is a great door to let in you know who.
NO!!! they are for the devil's children.

    Bonjour madam

Exposure to sunlight makes hair grow,

    so stay away from sunlight!

    aurevoir
Go back to her every 2 weeks, and tweeze in between times! They'll stay looking great! Good luck!!
Pluck off stray hair regrowth or shave them.
    WAX EM!!
Instead of leaving them and letting them grow back, maintain them and everyday look and see if there are any few stray hairs, if there are just pluck them out.

By doing this everyday you are keeping the shape the beautician made them
DONT shave them like someone else said!! you can either pluck them whenever you see any stray hairs or wax them! you can get waxing kits like veet everywhere!
get them done when needed to.
Just keep going back to the same lady like every two weeks and have her keep you nicely waxed and cleaned up...in between the 2 weeks if some hairs get really out of hand just pluck it....but don't make this a habit.

Try your local chamber of commerce. Also visit city hall and speak to someone in community development. The mayor's office should be able to point you in the right direction. Write or call the govenor's office in Columbus. Since you already have a business you must have a tax number. So you can contact the Treasurer of the State of Ohio.

if you know of a place that dont over price or have a website that would be really helpful.

why dont you call them and ask

How old do you have to be to shape your eyebrows at the beauty salon?

There is no age, that is for sure. Salons may want a preant to be with you if you are at a young age, but I see no reason to get them done before 12 or 13 anyways. How old do you have to be to shape your eyebrows at the beauty salon?
i dunno noe but i get my done since i was 13How old do you have to be to shape your eyebrows at the beauty salon?
their is realy no age limmit. their should be. 15or 16 to start. also look at the sanitary conditiones. you have a right. walk back in the area look at the empliments(tools) they are giong to use on you. towels. paper linning on table. also look for cosmetology licenes. very important.
i dont think there is an age...
    I started when I was 12.
I don't really think it matters. The first time I went was when I was 14.

Which beauty salons' slimming treatments works best?

there are so many slimming treatments available in the market... hich one really works? which one is gimmick only and must avoid?Which beauty salons' slimming treatments works best?
The one that you walk the farthest to.Which beauty salons' slimming treatments works best?
i have tried 2 and in the end, I concluded that all will work for u if YOU have the DETERMINATION and STRENGTH to do so... and also if you LOVE urself very much, because every where you go to is the same... you have to be harworking to go down to the salon every week and watch what you eat....
the one next to my gym class
the eat f*ck all, dont eat just drink water till you reach thdesired wieght it really is that easy
They're all gimmicks...some of them give you a boost of energy, and that might help you at the gym. Basically, you need to maintain a healthy diet, and go to the gym regularly. Think about it-if these things were for real, we'd all be using them, and we'd all be thin. Good luck!
I would hesitate to give u an answer to this as there are so many treatments from as many beauty salons. The rule of thumbs is to understand your body physiology, consider genetic factors, diet type, body anatomy etc. There are many factors that would determine successful slimming programmes. Some do with exercise alone, some with extras like diet, nutritional supplements, etc. You need to sit down with a genuine therapist who will be able to take all factors into consideration and advice you on the best. You cant just pick one and say it works before a careful assessment. In short each body has a unique response to any stress factor (positive or negative) when it comes to slimming and you need to take all these into perspective. Good luck!
    use your finger
They do not work some help you to eliminate water but just do it the real way diet and exercise.
there is not as such the best beauty salons' slimming treatment, the best way is how do you workout during the day and it is a cheaper and the best. As what the beauty salons do is they operate you and stop the fat production in the body and this may harm you in the future.

Tips or Advice on starting A Beauty Salon?

I need help, I'm planning to start a small beauty salon.Tips or Advice on starting A Beauty Salon?
Big question. Many answers that depend on your situation.

    1. Buy a salon %26amp; equipment that is already open and running.

    2. Start from scratch to find space, equipment, etc.

    3. But rememeber, unless you have customers already, opening a salon will not bring you enough business in the beginning, but add financial burden.

My suggestion is: Work for a salon until you have contacts and loyal clients, AND enough money to pay bills and stay open for 6 months.

After my sister worked and earned a loyal customer base, she bought equipment and put her salon in her home. But without loyal clients, nothing works.

Word of mouth works faster than any other thing, so u have to render excellent services, and customer satisfaction. I wont go back to an hairdresser that has done rubbish on my hair and certainly wont recommend them.

You could do free hair styles for the first 5 people on a certain day, just put a large banner outside the salon and you'll be shocked. Also, flyers work great as well. Put them in ALL places, buses [tactifully :) ], library, churches, bar, restaurants, schools, market, everywhere and also hand out cards to ladies.

    You'll make it.
Other than ads, cupons and discounts, what about sponsoring the hair at a local fashion show? I don't know what kind of salon you are, but my friend's cousin just opened her own salon a year ago and its kind of edgy/trendy and they got their name out to their core clientele by doing the hair on the models for local designers who were having local fashion shows of various sizes. After they had a loyal following tons of others trickled in after seeing their 5 stars on Yelp. Ironically (because at first glance the place looks trendy enough to make you nervous about it) they give good haircuts and excellent attention to their clients so her salon has the most amazing Yelp rating I've ever seen. And people tend to trust other people so when you have over 50 comments saying how wonderful your experience was, how much attentive listening about what you wanted you received and the great haircut you left with, people flock in.
The only way to build business is to get people in the door and the best way to get people in the door is to give away free stuff, lots and lots of free stuff - products, services, discounts, etc. BUT it sounds as if the owners aren't willing to do that, so unfortunately, you may not be in business very long.
Local newspaper article / press releases about something new in the salon.

    Flyers.

Set up a Facebook page and get fans.

  • My hair is damaged and i need to go to the beauty salon?

but im scared because my hair is so broke off in the middle. will the salon try to cut my hair even? [i hope not] can someone tell me what they will do? im so scared i dont want them to cut it at all.My hair is damaged and i need to go to the beauty salon?
tell them that u dont want it chopped off and if they do it anyway dont pay.My hair is damaged and i need to go to the beauty salon?
ya, i agree with the first one. just tell them you know your hair is damaged but your going to grow it out longer then cut it. get it trimmed tho that way its not as much to cut when you do get it cut. also, get the pantene beautiful lengths. this shampoo is AMAZING! i'm not lying when i say it works. its worth the money to get both conditioner and shampoo. read the reviews if you need to but it works. use this, and your hair will grow longer faster and you can get it cut more often but still keep the length. also if you straighten your hair try not to do it as often, or by a really good heat protecter
WELL IF YOU ARE SCARED..DON'T GO AT ALL. IF YOU WANT TO TRY TO HAVE SOME DECENT LOOKING LOCKS YOU REALLY MAY HAVE TO LOSE SOME LENGTH. I USED TO TRY THAT AND GET ALL FREAKY ABOUT THE AMOUNT TAKEN OFF...AND YA KNOW WHAT HAPPENED? IT BROKE AND SPLIT AND LOOKED LIKE FRIZZY DAMAGED LONG HAIR. THE PROBLEM IS WHERE THE BREAKAGE STARTS...SO IF YOU PONY TAIL OR BUNHEAD A LOT THAT WILL BREAK YOUR HAIR. I FINALLY GOT SO DISGUSTED I JUST SAID OH JUST 'DO IT' ...AND IT WAS THE BEST THING I COULD HAVE EVER DONE. NOW I HAVE TO GO BACK JUST TO KEEP MY HAIR SHORT ENOUGH. SUPRISING HOW FAST IT GROWS WHEN YA DON'T WANT IT TOO! SO START LOOKING AROUND AT SHORT HAIR STYLES..ONE WAY OR THE OTHER..IT WILL BE SHORT. BREAKAGE HAIR -DO OR PROFESSIONAL HAIR STYLE?

    4. We want to be known for our emergency and good quality service.

I have some aims for my beauty salon but can somebody help me with objectives. Business Coursework!?
    Those are some good goals.

Do you have a business plan?

If not you need to go to SBA (Small Business Administration) web site and they will walk you through one and it is very enlightening.

Do you have a marketing plan and can you financially afford to carry through on it - with paying for ads, running specials, etc? There are tons of books in the library and on Amazon.com for marketing for small businesses and it all works the same basically - just applying the marketing 'ideas' to your business.

We have been in a small business (embroidery and hot pressing) for 16 yrs. The one thing that I've found is you have to market without let up. Even when you are busy or you feel you are 'too busy' you must continue to market.

Also you should be considering what your marketing target is. What age group? Sex? etc.

Also look for other avenues of income involving your business - maybe that would be having a nail person available or shampoos etc for sale there and so on. Maybe would you rent out stations to other hairdressers?

I am sure this won't 'appeal' to you but you could also ck out the funeral homes as we have a friend that does hair for the 'dead' and she makes a lot of money. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it but I don't think I could do it.

Also there is a good business in going to nursing homes and retirement homes to cut hair, give perms and sets as I know we pay $60 per month to have my mother-in-laws hair done (2x per month - so she pays 30.00 every 2 weeks.)

Really hope this helps you. You should also look carefully at the political situation at the moment and perhaps post pone opening your shop until you see who wins. I think we are in a recession at the moment and if taxes are raised as one candidate is pushing for - we will be in a depression before long, which might not be the ideal time to begin a new business. We are actually thinking of closing our business if BO wins as with the terrific tax hike that will happen when he rolls back the Bush tax cuts, more gov regulation and oversight of small businesses and also the health care that will become mandatory we don't think we can make any money. Health care just for ourselves and 2 employees now runs 1600 month and with his plan would nearly double for us so we are feeling pretty shakey. Just our opinion.

Good luck!I have some aims for my beauty salon but can somebody help me with objectives. Business Coursework!?

You don't have to be one of the hair stylists, but as the owner the cost of utilities, permits, inspections by Department of Health, etc. fall upon you. You can rent a chair to each of your stylists and they in turn pay you a percentage of the service or product(s) sold to that customer.(They keep their own tips).Owning a beauty salon without being cosmetologist?
the easiest but most expensive way would be to purchase a already est. company. try to find someone who is retiring or their business is not doing so well. this way all of ur equipment will be there and the only thing that u would have to do is transfer ownership.

hmm well i really don't know.
Microsoft Excel has several good spreadsheet templates that are free through their online help website. They pretty much have everything you would need. Plus, it's FREE!!

Do girls like guys who like to have their nails done at the beauty salon?

im guy and i get my fingernails and my toenails done at a beauty salon. Yes i wear color on my fingernails and toenails.Do girls like guys who like to have their nails done at the beauty salon?
I've been getting my nails professionally manicured for the past 5 years. I have a manicure about every two to three weeks, and I love having it done. It's very relaxing, and I like my nails to look really nice. I get a lot of compliments. I wear my nails quite long (for a guy) - about 5-7mm past the fingertip, and I have them finished in a clear glossy polish as part of my manicure. Between manicures I clean them myself twice daily and apply OPI Nail Envy (gloss or matt, depending on my mood) as strengthener every other day. Having my nails done makes me feel really good about myself and gives me confidence.Do girls like guys who like to have their nails done at the beauty salon?
    Hi

My nails are real. I've never worn acrylics or any other type of false nails. I'm lucky that I've been blessed with really strong and healthy nails, which allows me to wear them long. When I stop working I'm intending to grow them longer - hopefully up to an inch or so past the fingertip.

Dude seriously, we don't need you to undergo all of those metrosexual beauty habits for us to appreciate you more. We totally accept that men are more rugged than us. Although, a well kept man is highly distinguishing and can be sexy.
getting them done is fine i guess, but coloring them is just a lil 2 wierd, thats my opinion
have you ever been punched in the face for seemingly no reason by a complete stranger?

if so then its because you get your nails done,,
not me. i like more rough on the edges kinda guy. thats way too metrosexual for me.
yes i like that you do this-but color is saying maybe you are gay-if not gay don't get color-but please keep up the good work-it means you got class
    for me it depends....what color?? black is cool but other than that....idk----- but my friends think its hot wen dudes do things that are supposedly ';for chicks onli';
its fine as long as you dont get them painted. besides who wants crusty feet?
idk depends on the girl...i personally think thats really hott...but maybe not to someone else
Well, usually guys that do that are gay, but if a guy is straight and does that, then I do not find that attractive at all.
    wow..

If you're not gay.. no women do not like that sorry.

Black maybe.. but I won't even get mine done b.c im not that much of a *****
    one word GAY
if they just get it cut and buffed and stuff i wouldnt care but if a guy wore nailpolish i would kind of think he was odd
Hmm i don't think it would bother me... I'm a very open person
i love a guy who gets manicures %26amp; pedicures...but it has to be a sports manicure and the only polish he better be wearing is clear...if that!
no...if dey du der nailz painted dey r simply known az GAYZ.....
I just read your other questions and found out why you like to get your nails done. and thats okay

but my opinion is that I like when guys are more naturel I guess. like they care what the look like but they dont go to extremes like getting nails done I guess..

but if your g/f is okay with you doing that stuff its okay I guess. and even if shes not okay with it then you shouldnt be with her because I think its more important to be yourself. but it seems like she is okay with it lol
Actually, my guy friend works at a bank so he gets his nails done to make it look neat (no one wants to see ugly fingernails!). We would go get it done together sometimes, as odd as that sounds. But I would still find it odd if a guy painted his nails...
You would possibly be what some would label a metrosexual. There are a good handful of guys who enjoy getting manicures and pedicures since it's considered a form of good hygiene, but color on the nails (and on toenails) is a pretty conspicuous sign that you're, well, actively tapping into your feminine side I guess. Which by no means is a bad thing, but unless you're straight and don't want others to misconstrue your sexual orientation, avoiding color, especially on the toenails (pretty questionable) is a considerably effective way to land you more or less in the ';maybe not so gay'; category. It depends.

But in short, straight girls typically do not dig sexually questionable men.
    u honestly sound gay

What can I call my own beauty salon?

I opened a new beauty salon on my country area. I want allyour help to give it a spical name. I don't wont do as all (call it by there own name). I want a name have a meaning of beauty and fantasy. What can I call my own beauty salon?
    ';Salon no Miko';

'Miko' mean 'Beauty Child' or 'Child of Beauty' in japanese. 'Miko no Salon', is a mixture of Japanese and english put together that means, 'Salon of the Child of Beauty'.

Another name I think just sounds fanciful is, ';Pink Butterflies and Muave Roses';. Just imagine that! ^_^ Pink roses and pink butterflies everywhere~ *daydreaming*

Oh! Or ';Salon de Belle'; It means, ';Salon of Beauty'; in french.

    Other names:

    * ';Stars and Streaks'; (Get it? As in highlights? ^_^)

    * ';The Touch of The Princess: Manifique' Hair Salon';

    * ';Kijutsu Salon'; Means: 'Magic Salon' It's part english and Japanese.

    * ';Maryoku Neko no Hadazawari'; It means 'Touch of The Magical Cat' or 'The Magical Cats Touch' in Japanese.

Okay i'm done... I should quite before I end up giving you a whole list of things.... %26gt;_%26lt; (I have quite the erm'... Imagination. Ha-ha!) ^_^What can I call my own beauty salon?

Speak to your local Business Link or visit their website for a lot of free help and advice on starting your business.

There's a lot of beauty salons around so you need to think about what makes yours different. Why should people come to you instead of the ones that have been going for some time?

Are you going to do the treatments yourself or will you hire staff to do them? Another way is to rent stations in your salon to other therapists.

If you're doing the treatments yourself, who is running the business. It's hard to work on a business while you're working in it. As the business owner you need to devote time to marketing and making sure that the business is running profitably.

    Good luck!
Find a premises, check out what will be your potential overheads and see if you can afford it. Hopefully you will have a few clients who will follow you. Good luck.

When you're at the beauty salon do you demand to be treated like a queen? Just for fun!?

I've been in the beauty industry for over 10 years now. And People just crack me up. I always try to my best to service my clients, but you can't please em all the time. Really you can't. So I want to know, when you go to get a hair cut, massage, facial, or eyebrow wax what exactly do you expect from your service provider? I mean besides our total 100% attention to you the client, which I completely understand, because it can be expensive. When you're at the beauty salon do you demand to be treated like a queen? Just for fun!?
Politeness,to offer advice but to consider what I'm saying when getting a haircut and that's all really,I'm not that hard to please,oh and good personal hygieneWhen you're at the beauty salon do you demand to be treated like a queen? Just for fun!?
The only thing i go for is to get my hair trimed. I dont like going to salons. I dont like being pampered. Just a quick trim, good conversation and go.
I expect to get the service i came for haircut i want a haircut. I do not demand to be treated like a queen thats just rude.
NO! That's what snotty beyacches do!

The person providing the service knows that their tip depends on how attentive they are.

    i agree with SuperC, PLUS:

You need an established clientele before you open a salon.

You should also work at a high traffic chain salon for a few years to get fast experience.

You dont want to get a bad reputation at your salon, learn the practice at a chain first.

The is common (wink, wink) practice in the industry.I want to open a beauty salon?

Guys, do you still go to a barber shop to get your hair cut, or do you go to a beauty salon?

I still like the old-fashioned barber shops.Guys, do you still go to a barber shop to get your hair cut, or do you go to a beauty salon?
I still go to a barbershop. It's the old-fashioned kind where they shave the back of your neck with a straight razor and use the hand held massager on your shoulders.I suppose it's as much for the nostalgia as anything else, even though I think that they do a great job on the cut itself. So I'll give a shout out to Mid-town Barbers in Michigan City,Indiana.Guys, do you still go to a barber shop to get your hair cut, or do you go to a beauty salon?
I bought a hair shaver. Cant be asked to spend too much on haircuts and its quick and easy to cut.
hubby likes the barber cuz the barber only charges $8 or $9 and the womens places we know of charge $10 to $12 and up
i go to the beauty shop because my mom want a girl and i have long hair
I shave mine so I do it at home why pay someone else to do it?
My father goes to the barber shops too.
I cut my hubbys here at home.
a barber shop with one chair and one old guy...thats how it should always be
A man goes to a barber. A half a man goes to a beauty salon. Period.
i have gone to both barber shops and beauty parlors and have gotten good quality haircuts at both places.
    I still prefer barber shops.
I'm a girl! And no don't go to the beauty salon, whatever you do! You'll look like a phaget! For u the barber shop is the place to be!
i dont go to either place.i cut my own hair, whats left of it.

U will have no headway with the charming %26amp; sexy Sikh ladies, who prefer their men hairy.
I think it's nice that you take care of body! Good for you unlike most men. It does not make you gay or metrosexual about it. You just like to look good and clean. Don't even bother listening to the person above about the gay part, she probably likes her dudes looking like gorillas.
i'm not sure if the full body waxing is completely necessary but the others seem fine
ha ha my boyfriend is the same way

he just likes to take care of himself. I don't think its weird, its great! trust me, much better than dating someone with nasty nub nails hahah

You are one of those so-called metro sexuals actually. I really don't mind guys who are vain. But the most important thing for me towards the opposite is CLEANLINESS and GOOD GROOMING. I think you are on the right track... Just don't overdo it, ok??

aww i think that's lovely! just be glad she's enthusiastic enough about this to involve you in it! and it'll be ok! neither curled hair nor nail polish are permanent :)
ya it helps and dont worry relax if her rommie walks in just say hey and have fun your girlfriend will apreciate it

if ur paying for it and its your head, whose to say that ur wrongDo you think that it would be OK for me to go to a beauty salon to get my hair done?
    absolutly
Yeah sure why not.Guys that take care of themselves are so cute.
GO for it , your worth it....
    Sure
Go ahead. I would love to be there when you tell them you want it roller set.
    Hey, Guy.

Asking for a ';roller set'; might give rise to a few eyebrows but I doubt that anyone is going to think much of it, or say 'no'. If it's a head and it has hair.... and no lice....

If you are embarrassed or uncertain, you can always call ahead and ask, specifically, for someone who wouldn't be uncomfortable doing that for you. You're happy, they're happy... everyone's happy.

While you're there ask them if they have suggestions for other ways of getting your hair to do what you want it to do and/or suggestions for other styles/cuts that would look nice on you. Cosmotologists are usually ready to help and they almost always have ideas in their heads as to what cut/style they think would be complimentary on you.

    That was probably more answer than you were looking for but, ';Oh, well.';

    Happy Hair Day.
Sure! You do what makes you feel and look good.
Go on big pimpin'. If Snoop Dogg can get his hair roller set or a press and curl, then you can go to the beauty salon to get your hair done. Just go in there with the design you want in mind. Also, you might want to bring along a picture of your desired hairdo to help the hairdresser achieve the style you are looking for.

Selling jewelry in a beauty salon. How much mark up?

I have a small business making jewelry. I have gone into a salon in Indianapolis, and the purchase from me wholesale and triple the price and then complain that people aren't buying because of the prices. They want me to come down on my wholesale prices to 15.00 - 20.00 per piece so they can triple. Is this normal?Selling jewelry in a beauty salon. How much mark up?
If you make the jewelry, it's retail price should be 10 to 20 times the cost of your materials and labor.

If it costs you $100 to make, it then the retail should be at least $1,000, or, even better $2,000.

    Jewelry has artistic value.

This is how jewelry stores work. Jewelry is a luxury, not a necessity. This is how they can buy jewelry from manufacturers, and have 75% off sales 48 weeks out of the year.

If it costs you $100 to make it, and your retail price is $2,000, then your retailer can buy it for $666.67 and triple the price like they want.

    At those figures:

Their profit margin will be 67%.

Your profit margin will be 85%.

You can have a 50% off sale and still make profit, so can they.

And, people won't treat your jewelry like it is cheap junk made in China.

FYI: I noticed that S**rs Jewelry, is selling stainless steel rings, for $99.99. Their cost is about $5.00 each. probably less, we are talking about stainless steel, not even silver or vermiel. $5.00 times 20 = $100.00.

PS: I might be interested in retailing your jewelry also. contact me at arc2051@hotmail.com.Selling jewelry in a beauty salon. How much mark up?
100% mark up is standard in salons. 300% is just plain greedy. I suggest looking for other salons to sell your jewelry.
NO.. you sell to them,, out right.. and if they cant sell it at the outlandishly high mark up prices that they put on it then thats up to them.. people want value for their dollow and i dont know about you but im not going to pay $60 or more for a piece of jewelry at a hair salon,, keep to your prices,, thats what it costs you to make and your materials and time..
Have you ever thought of consignment sales? Just a thought!

At any rate, you have production costs and overhead to cover! These retailers are well aware of the concept of overhead!! take a real hard look at your fabricating, and packaging costs. Look at your all the soft costs, such as lights, heat, water, electricity, etc. The money to cover these costs and make you a decent profit should be considered in the wholesale prices you charge. You are not a non profit organization!!

One idea, maybe you could hold a special sale in these salons, one at a time, every weekend, until Christmas. heree's the kicker! YOU will do the marketing and sales, based on your overhead, and the profit margin expected by the retailer, less maybe 10% for that weekend. You and the retailer share the cost of the 10%. You knock off 5% of the wholesale price, and they accept 5% less on the retail price. This 5% they give up will cover the lesser amount of overhead, due to the fact that YOU are doing the marketing and selling! both of you stand to make a fair buck that weekend! But YOU must promote it, advertise it, and handle marketing and sales for the client! It's more work, but who said small business was easy??? Once you have established a buying pattern in each salon, you will be able to supply them with the products that sell the most in that location. So...You move product, you assist your clients, and you do a market study all at the same time!

    Hope this helps!!
First you need to figure out your cost per piece for supplies. Then you need to 'pay' yourself for the time to make the piece. So if it costs you $5 in supplies and one hour of labor (say $10) for a necklace then YOUR COST is $15. You double that to $30 for wholesale and you sell it retail for $45-$60.

Most retail stores do a 200% mark-up. So if they pay $30 they are going to charge $60.

Pick your wholesale price and stick to it. If they won't pay it - take your wares elsewhere. You'd be better off to invest in some business cards and wear a few pieces to show off and give out your cards when people ask about it.
1,000% retail mark-up. Clearance sales at 75% off unless of course your jewelery is of artistic value all hand made where no pieces are identical.

If so I would sell each creation with its own story attached certifyng the uniqueness of each piece with your signature and artistic renom茅 attached to it in very exclusive box or packaging on co-sigment only with pre-agreed retail price and the commission split. For this type of merchandise, beauty salons are poor choice. Galeries, golf clubs, wine tasting rooms, 5 stars hotels, tourist gift shops, holiday resorts etc.

Yes, there's male salons/spas. Lots of men like to be well groomed.
    A lot of salons are catering for men now. Phone and ask! I have not heard of any all male salon...yet lol;
ring them first to ask them..nothing to be ashamed of!!!
Sure they do, just walk on in.
I'm a Hair stylist in a salon. They all do male treatments, they have to for state boards. So you won't look crazy walking into any one you want. Don't listen to ';GBL'; he probably is some fat ignorant 50 year old man in a white shirt with pizza stains on the front.
There are indeed male salons. In fact, there is a new on in the Pittsburgh, PA area which I'd love to try one day.

I am looking for black beauty salon in melbourne or ballarat australia so i can get a relaxer?

i'm studying abroad here in ballarat, australia, which is about an hour and a half from melbourne for five months. luckily for me i got a relaxer two days before i left (july 9th), but i need to find a salon that does relaxers within the next month or so because i relax my hair every six weeks.

please help! :)I am looking for black beauty salon in melbourne or ballarat australia so i can get a relaxer?
What if I tell you that it is better to stretch your relaxers? 12 to 16 wks. with the proper care. There is a website that lots of women share great information about growing healthy and long hair and about other things. I know we were taught and told by our stylist to get a relaxer every 6 wks. and trim.

Check out this site and you will find valuable information and come back and give me my 10 points.

You can join and tell them where you are from and maybe someone can help you with a salon. But after you learn that you can wash, condition, use a leave in conditioner, a mositurizer (I like BB mositurizer, S Curl, Carefree Gold) and oil (good old olive oil) as you adding these products scrunch your hair and let air dry. We use braids, phony ponytails, two strands twist, french braid, bantu these are protective styles use to stretch relaxers.

I am a relaxer and I wash my hair 4 to 5 times a week, do my hair regime and go. My hair loves the oil and moisturizer. some days I only cowash that is condition.

Thanks =).Is there a beauty supply store in Orange County that carries large posters of hairstyles for salons?

Specializing in black peoples hair.... NO OFFENSE!!! Just need someone that knows how to work with my hair. thanksIs there any good Ethnic beauty salons near Ventura County, CA?
It's tough. I'm not black, but I have the hair and live in SB County. Not many in this area know what they're doing with tight curly fragile hair. If I could find a good ethnic salon within 100 miles, I'd go there. Is there any good Ethnic beauty salons near Ventura County, CA?
I go to supercuts for mine..

Not only does it depend how fast your hair grows, it also depends on how much you like to syle your hair. It looks to me like it takes alot of product and playing with to get that look! I think it is a really cute style though! Good luck!!!How long will this hairstyle last if I go to a beauty salon?

Why??? Are you going to eat there? I think you ought to take this off the Dining Out catagory.
You may have more luck posting in a different category, this is the dining out category.

How long do I have to wait after I make an appointment in a beauty salon for a new hairstyle?

you need not waitHow long do I have to wait after I make an appointment in a beauty salon for a new hairstyle?
What are you asking exactly? How long do I have to wait after I make an appointment in a beauty salon for a new hairstyle?
When your hair looks like ****, you make an appointment. What's the question?
Until your hair has grown out to a point where the stylist can create a new 'do. Also, it depends on the length of the new style you want. If it's shorter, then just go ahead. But if it is the length that you have right now, then wait a couple months depending on how many layers you have in your hair now.

    Good luck!
It depends on the salon and how busy they are. Some salons take walk-in patrons and at others it may take a week to get and appointment. Pick one that you want to go to and call. They'll tell you how long a wait will be.
It doesn't matter. You can go as often as you want until you are satisfied with the length/cut/style. That's the most important thing.
    if you go to a different salon then you dont have to wait at all. the same salon: 6 weeks';ish';
