What are some things you would like to see in your beauty salon?

I'm opening one soon and need some ideas such as: themes, products, services, etc? What are some things you would like to see in your beauty salon?
I love going into salons that are really classy. maybe instead of that huge wall hanging price list you could do it menu style and make a couple of laminated price lists and distribute them through the lobby( on magazine stands, the front desk, etc) Drinks... love it(keep it simple Ice tea/ice water) Colors bright yet classy.reds/tans. Make your stylists talk but be able to read the people who don't wanna talk. There is nothing i hate more than going in to a salon and sit down and never hear a word until they say ';is this ok?'; but on the flip side i know people who just want to go in and relax! Here is a great website that might give you a few ideas on floor plans and decorating! http://www.veecomanufacturing.com/Salon_鈥?/a>What are some things you would like to see in your beauty salon?
relaxing soft music played, with no relying on the radio. soft music may not be to everyones taste, but when people want to relax, i dont think that you would get any complaints. music on the radio is normally mixed, and you dont want to be listening to head banging stuff when you just want to wind down. a nice selection of products that you can buy, in a nice display, with clearly marked prices. some up to date magazines, and warm, modern colours for decor. oh, and pleasant smiling staff, with the offer of a nice warm drink would not go a miss. good luck, i hope you do well.
I like a salon that provides beverages for their clients w/o a charge on the bill. Considering the markup, it is a nice touch.

Second, up to date magazines. If a magazine is more than 3 months old, toss it.

I know some salons that have nice HDTV's and that is nice to watch while I am waiting for my highlights to be done.

Another touche I have encountered that I liked: a hot, steam towel on my face while my hair is washed.
A good color scheme. Either very relaxing, or very edgy. I think that the more services you offer, the more clientel you'll have, but also more employees (unless some are multi talented)
